I could taste Vietnamese Pho from Pho 501 in East Hartford, CT while I was living in Australia.
I still can't get pho to match theirs (and, yes, it tasted that good when I got back!!). Then I found Thai rolls, and mmm...mmmm...mmmm. Yum.
I went to yoga this morning, and picked up a listing of Delaware Ave establishments, finding a second Vietnamese restaurant in the area, My Linh Restaurant!! I've been to Van's Vietnamese Restaurant several times, which is also delicious.
Now, I can't get the taste of pho and of Thai rolls off my tongue.
Other restaurants I've been to in the area:
Obviously, Brown's Brewing Co. on River St. good beer, decent restaurant (more than pub food), 2 blocks from our place, how can you go wrong?
Troy Shalimar, Indian food, good veggie samosas and chicken tikka masala.
Jose Malone's just down the street from the pub. Yum. The owners, Ray and Maryanne, are great. Oh, btw, this is Irish-Mexican fusion!
I haven't yet been involved in Troy Night Out, but I hope to soon. It seems there's a major artist scene in the area - I find I'm just a little too peppy to fit in, but Mark and I have joined the new Photo Center and we hope to both support and get to use their facilities!
Ok, back to places I've been...one night out with the ladies we went to Peking (Thai) on Madison Ave. Decent.
I got distracted by the Troy Night Out links, maybe you should too. Food, music, shopping in Troy...
Now I just need some Thai rolls...
