Pool Days

| |

Tuesday was my first of a two-days-off stint (finally!), and planned with my friend M and her son J to have an afternoon pool party. The weather was gorgeous, and we headed outside to sit under the maple tree in the backyard and play with a beach ball in the pool. J is a little over a year, I think 13 months, and it was VERY fun.

We had tons of snacks and munchies, and the three cats who live in the backyard were entranced.

Mark was outside on a business call, weeding the edges of the yard, and then Al, my father-in-law came outside to chat for a while. Then, suddenly, Al my brother-in-law showed up from the back alley. Unbeknownst to me, he'd been working on my Seca II, the motorcycle that showed up back in the family - it was owned by my FIL, then my BIL, then bought by our friend Ben (who then bought a BMW), and after being garaged for 18 months was returned to the family in non-running condition. FIL spent the winter fixing it up, but ran into some issues...and now BIL is working on it.

FYI: Al cleans everything he touches. He's borrowed Mark's BMW R1100RT multiple times, and it's always buffed and shiny. He did the same with my bike...he painted the rusted exhaust pipes a clean, matte black, he shined and polished the cherry-red paint, and cleaned everything else. Al has healing hands (it's part of his talents as a cardio-thoracic surgical PA down in Poughkeepsie at Vassar Brother's Medical Center).

The whole family was out and about, it was awesome.
