I have been avoiding posting lately because such big things are happening in our lives that it feels strange to post about them...and we wanted to wait for a little while to announce to the world that we're "expecting," "having a baby," and "knocked up"!
So, we're twelve weeks pregnant and publicly announcing it (hah!). Woooohooooeeee! I have a cousin who is expecting her (fifth!) child two weeks after me, and we found out today that our friends from Denver, CO are expecting their third in just two months! Wow! The world is popping out all over! We're bringing life into the world.
Tuesday was my first of a two-days-off stint (finally!), and planned with my friend M and her son J to have an afternoon pool party. The weather was gorgeous, and we headed outside to sit under the maple tree in the backyard and play with a beach ball in the pool. J is a little over a year, I think 13 months, and it was VERY fun.
We had tons of snacks and munchies, and the three cats who live in the backyard were entranced.
Mark was outside on a business call, weeding the edges of the yard, and then Al, my father-in-law came outside to chat for a while. Then, suddenly, Al my brother-in-law showed up from the back alley. Unbeknownst to me, he'd been working on my Seca II, the motorcycle that showed up back in the family - it was owned by my FIL, then my BIL, then bought by our friend Ben (who then bought a BMW), and after being garaged for 18 months was returned to the family in non-running condition. FIL spent the winter fixing it up, but ran into some issues...and now BIL is working on it.
What a busy week I've had.
Mark showed up late last night as I briefly awoke. Rachel's been here all week, and I've been back and forth working every other day. When I'm not at work (and dropping food on the floor - today was yogurt, a piece of Luna Bar, some cottage cheese, and just now some of my dinner) we've been working really hard at being crafty. I, too, was also spending much time praying to the God of Printers as I babysat said printer.
In August and September of 2003 I took my first long motorcycle ride. In March of 2003 I purchased a 1999 BMW R1100RT. My only previous motorcycle was a Yamaha V-Star 650 custom cruiser.
In 2002 I started reading a BMW sport touring discussion board BMWST.com. This story was originally posted on that site in about 18 parts, as I edited them for posting. I wrote this story as I travelled, then edited it and posted it on the BMWST.com site.
This weekend Mark headed down to West Virginia on business. See his post here.
At the same time, I got on the orbital, went roller skating, and then headed to Goshen to spend the weekend with my dad, Rod, and my stepmother, Libby. I had a really fun weekend, and my body feels really good from all the exercise and activity!
