It's Official - Ezra LOVES the Ocean

| | | |

We headed out together to Quincy, MA the day after Mark arrived home from his 10-day motorcycle adventure and business trip (North Carolina, Cherokee, Deal's Gap.... good times with Al and Moose!).

Sunday we drove all the way to Quincy, MA and visited the Adams' Family Home - which was awesome, by the way! And then we continued on to see the ocean in Hull, MA. How wonderful a visit that was.

Long Absences from Blogging in Summer

| | | | | | |

I have been avoiding posting lately because such big things are happening in our lives that it feels strange to post about them...and we wanted to wait for a little while to announce to the world that we're "expecting," "having a baby," and "knocked up"!

Part One: Our First is on its Way

So, we're twelve weeks pregnant and publicly announcing it (hah!). Woooohooooeeee! I have a cousin who is expecting her (fifth!) child two weeks after me, and we found out today that our friends from Denver, CO are expecting their third in just two months! Wow! The world is popping out all over! We're bringing life into the world.

Blogging as Contact

| |

I guess I have readers out here, it's been a few people now who say - "Update your blog more! I want to know what is going on in your life!"

Wellll...My iPhone rocks.

My brother Tim is moving today - he got back from his Europe trip, AND his Seattle trip (the last was backpacking, part done with our mom, Lui, and the rest independently.

We had a "brothers" dinner last night - I picked up Tim on my way home from work, and drove up to find Mark and HIS brother, Al, hanging out on the front stoop comparing...you got it...new phones. Al has been avoiding the iPhone, so he has bought and returned one Blackberry, and just got another one. Hmn...Mark and I have a bet going. So - dinner at the pub, the two of us with our brothers. It was a very enjoyable evening, we hung out, talked about phones, talked about Tim's new job in CT at FactSet as a Security Engineer. The pale ale was the beer of the day, yum!

Hospital Time

| | |

Spent Thursday at Vassar Brothers Medical Center with Dots (aka grandma) in their cardio-thoracic waiting room. Pops had a long, intensive heart surgery, including bypasses, grafts, and a bovine valve replacement (the joke is that he's going to Moo!).

I was up at 4am today, and when I called to check in, he was already up doing his breathing treatment and I even got to say hello!

It was a early morning for me (very unusual), but Mark's in Wisconsin for their Grand Session and a presentation, and I couldn't sleep. So I got up and did some yoga, which felt great. I'll be working the next three days, so I expect I'll drop into bed when I get home tonight.

Wool Gathering

|

Wool Gathering -

Sometimes you stumble upon something that takes you back in time. In past times this would frequently occur in an attic, or old closet that someone was cleaning out. For me this happens when I change computers. I just got a new laptop, and I'm moving into it, after migrating all of my files over.

In this process I happened on an old QuickTime movie I made with photos from the first year of having my Canon Digital Rebel. Take a look (10MB). I thought I had posted it on this site, but apparently I hadn't. This video covers Septmber 2003 to September 2004.

Torrey XI -

I've finally gotten my files from Torrey XI to the point where I wanted them. So, here's the gallery. This was an amazing trip. More to come in the near future.

Return to Sanity Tour - 2003

Return to Sanity Tour - 2003

In August and September of 2003 I took my first long motorcycle ride. In March of 2003 I purchased a 1999 BMW R1100RT. My only previous motorcycle was a Yamaha V-Star 650 custom cruiser.

In 2002 I started reading a BMW sport touring discussion board BMWST.com. This story was originally posted on that site in about 18 parts, as I edited them for posting. I wrote this story as I travelled, then edited it and posted it on the BMWST.com site.

What A Weekend!

| | | |

This weekend Mark headed down to West Virginia on business. See his post here.

At the same time, I got on the orbital, went roller skating, and then headed to Goshen to spend the weekend with my dad, Rod, and my stepmother, Libby. I had a really fun weekend, and my body feels really good from all the exercise and activity!
