.... now where did it go??
Pre-Mommy Brain?
We headed out together to Quincy, MA the day after Mark arrived home from his 10-day motorcycle adventure and business trip (North Carolina, Cherokee, Deal's Gap.... good times with Al and Moose!).
Sunday we drove all the way to Quincy, MA and visited the Adams' Family Home - which was awesome, by the way! And then we continued on to see the ocean in Hull, MA. How wonderful a visit that was.
So it's really been coming down this morning, and if Shaunda or I had looked at the weather forecast we would have known our Grafton Lakes Beach plans were silly...
Fast forward to this morning, we're headed to the The Children's Museum of Science and Technology up in Rensselaer Tech Park.
Hope you're all enjoying this rainy day.
I had hanger steak at Jose Malones a month and a half ago, and I still can't get it out of my head. It was prepared with this amazing chili rub, and served with yummy buttery potatoes and asparagus, and salad...mmmm!!!!
Ezra and I spent the weekend in Goshen with my dad and Libby. It was a great time - my brother Tim and sister Maggie were there, as well as stepsister Mady and her daughter Rosie! We had a blast going to Mystic Aquarium on Saturday... and Ezra LOVED the huge tank of fish in the indoor exhibit! His little face was mesmerized by the fish swimming by.
It was over 90 degrees and the cool indoor exhibit was packed with people, but a note on the mirror in the women's restroom stated, "If you would like a quiet place to nurse your child, come to the administration office". If there was one place I appreciated a "nursing room", it was there!! THANK YOU!!! Honestly, once it got that packed in the exhibit, there was no way Ezra would settle to nurse, and it was ungodly hot outside. It was their "nurse's office" room, just off the main exhibits, and they had a "please do not disturb" sign for the door.
We spent saturday and sunday in Vermont visiting my grandparents - Ezra's GREATgrandparents. They in turn got to meet their first greatgrandchild.

We have a few photos from that trip (we also stopped at our favorite B&B - The Meadowlark Inn so Deb and Lucia could meet Ezra too).

W.H. Murray - Until One Is Committed
Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans:
that the moment one definitely commits oneself,
then providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one that would not otherwise have occured. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favour
all manner of unforseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man would have dreamed would come his way.
I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets:
I have been avoiding posting lately because such big things are happening in our lives that it feels strange to post about them...and we wanted to wait for a little while to announce to the world that we're "expecting," "having a baby," and "knocked up"!
So, we're twelve weeks pregnant and publicly announcing it (hah!). Woooohooooeeee! I have a cousin who is expecting her (fifth!) child two weeks after me, and we found out today that our friends from Denver, CO are expecting their third in just two months! Wow! The world is popping out all over! We're bringing life into the world.
For those of you who poo-pooed the showing of iPhone purchasers on Friday night, or that the lines were done with partway through the evening...
Wow: iPhone sold more iPhones in three days than Motorola's RAZR did in its first month.
If you want to see more about our experiences using the iPhone, check out Mark's blog.
I'm very happy with it.
So I couldn't make it to Itzhak Perlman May 31st (Pops' had his surgery that day)...but this week I found a friend with extra tickets to Bela Fleck and Chick Corea for this past Thursday, June 14th. I had such a fun time!
